Welcome to the new Blessed4Ever.com website. Now that the wedding is over and we are getting things in order, we decided to convert this blog into one for me; Tyson. Ashley will have her own little piece of internet heaven over at dandelionblessings.com. I know some of you are asking why I need 2 blogs. After all, I do already have the ever popular startbeingfit.com. Truth is. I wanted someplace where I can write about things that are not fitness related. Everyday events and topics that are best suited off of that site. I will give this is a shot and we all shall see where it goes together.

My Pet Peeve of the day regards toilet paper dispensers. I hate it when the top roll falls to the bottom and then makes it nearly impossible to pull out anything other than 1 square at a time. You then end up holding the top roll with one hand while gently pulling the paper out with the other. Ever happen to you? No? Hmmm…..weird.
Over the weekend Craft Girl had some interesting things to say. The first one was when we went to Lamoni for Alli’s art show. We were checking into the hotel and Craft Girl asked if her and her sister got their own room. Yeah honey, I don’t see why a 5 and 7 year old shouldn’t have their own room. Yeah right!
The second thing came when we were talking about Grandpa and Grandma. She asked me if Grandpa and Grandma’s house was in this country? I explained that although their house was really far away, it was in fact, in this country. She then said “Do you know that people in different countries speak the same Engluage?” I guess that is a combination between English and Language! She is too funny.
Over the weekend, Ashley decided to spruce up the kid’s shower curtain. She took a few pieces of fabric and tied them through the loops on the shower curtain. The end result looks great!
There was a bookshelf that my wife found online that she really liked for the girls room. After careful consideration we decided not to buy it. We figured it would be too small for our needs. The feature she liked the best was that it had a bin at the bottom of it that would prevent toys or books from falling out. Here is the motivation for the project we were about to tackle.
It was made pretty easy with some pre-primed MDF that I got from Home Depot. Ashley made it pretty with letters that spelled out the girl’s name (not shown). In the end, I liked it much more than the one we saw online and the kids seem to really like it too.
Craft Girl is always making the coolest stuff out of what we would think is ordinary objects. We see a piece of paper and she sees a tree house, dog house, trophy, and fortune teller. Her imagination is awesome! The frame was made one evening at Ashley’s school. They were having a kids night that consisted of crafts. I think Craft Girl was in heaven!
Craft Girl is spending another day home from school today. She has been battling a high fever for the last few days. This morning was the first time it was below 100 degrees but still not low enough to go back to school. Plus the schools have a rule that kids have to be free of the fever for 24 hours before they can go back to school. And that reduction in temp cannot be induced with medication. She is feeling better and I think she will be good to go tomorrow.
I love Monday Night Football when the Vikings are playing. Mainly because its the only time I get to watch them on TV. Living in KC, I always get stuck watching the Chiefs battle to win a game. Its a treat getting to watch the Vikings for a change. Last night was no exception.
I knew it was going to be a great game. They were playing the Green Bay Packers at home with the Packers former QB at the helm. Favre did not disappoint his new fans and had the Packers scrambling at every turn. Jared Allen gave a spectacular performance with 4.5 sacks!
Chiefs fan take note. The Vikings are a team to watch this year, the Chiefs are not.
My little chicken nugget is not feeling well this weekend. She is running a fever and does not have the usual energy that she displays. I don’t think its anything serious but please keep her in your heart and prayers.

This weekend we went up to Council Bluffs for a quick trip to celebrate a birthday. While up there, we ran across a box of old basketball cards that my wife used to collect. That’s right, I said my wife used to collect basketball cards!
It’s what she said next that makes her the most awesome wife in the world. She said, “we should get a Beckett catalog to see what they are worth.” Not only did she collect cards but she knows what a Beckett catalog is! I used to be a big baseball card fan and have boxes of them in storage. Its so awesome knowing that my wife shared in a past time that I once loved as well! She rocks!
