Lazy Day
Chicken Nugget – Dad, I am tired and my leg still hurts.
Me – Well its a good thing its a lazy day today. That means you can lay in bed all day and watch cartoons if you want. If you are tired, then just relax.
Chicken Nugget – Wait a second. Lazy day? Does that mean we dont have to listen to parents?
Me – Sorry honey. You still have to listen to your parents.
Chicken Nugget – Thats OK. I still like lazy day.
Christmas Eve Blizzard Pictures
I managed to snap a few pictures from the blizzard we had over Christmas Eve. I have heard that this is the most snow we have ever gotten at one time. I believe it.
Halloween Pic
I ran across this on my computer and thought I would share. Craft girl went as Miley Cyrus (not Hannah Montana) and Chicken Nugget went as The Little Mermaid.

Only the Dinosaurs
This morning my kids and I were listening to some classic VeggieTales on the way to school. The song of choice this morning was Crocodile Rock. Craft Girl asked me a very serious question about the birth of Rock and Roll. She wanted to know when it was born. This question has been brought up a lot lately in regards to various things. It almost always followed by “Where you born yet?” This morning was no different. I answered her question with what I believe to be an accurate statement. I told her that Rock and Roll was invented in the 50′s. She then proceeded with the usual “where you born yet?” To my surprise, Chicken Nugget girl immediately piped up and said “No silly, no one was alive during the 50′s except for the dinosaurs!”
I would like to conclude with an apology to all my readers that were born during the 50′s. We know you aren’t that old.
Love vs Anger
On the way to school yesterday, Chicken Nugget decided that she would take a pen and write on the headrest of my car. Upon interrogation, she tells me she did it because she thought that I loved her so much that I wouldn’t be mad.
When we got home, she got to clean it up.
Girl Scout Cookies on Sale Now
Craft Girl is in Girl Scouts this year and is now selling their wonderfully deleicous cookies! If you would like a box, give me jingle or email and we would be happy to sell you some!
Pet Peeve of the Day
My Pet Peeve of the day regards toilet paper dispensers. I hate it when the top roll falls to the bottom and then makes it nearly impossible to pull out anything other than 1 square at a time. You then end up holding the top roll with one hand while gently pulling the paper out with the other. Ever happen to you? No? Hmmm…..weird.
Craft Girl’ism
Over the weekend Craft Girl had some interesting things to say. The first one was when we went to Lamoni for Alli’s art show. We were checking into the hotel and Craft Girl asked if her and her sister got their own room. Yeah honey, I don’t see why a 5 and 7 year old shouldn’t have their own room. Yeah right!
The second thing came when we were talking about Grandpa and Grandma. She asked me if Grandpa and Grandma’s house was in this country? I explained that although their house was really far away, it was in fact, in this country. She then said “Do you know that people in different countries speak the same Engluage?” I guess that is a combination between English and Language! She is too funny.
Pretty Shower Curtain
Over the weekend, Ashley decided to spruce up the kid’s shower curtain. She took a few pieces of fabric and tied them through the loops on the shower curtain. The end result looks great!
Book Shelf Modification
There was a bookshelf that my wife found online that she really liked for the girls room. After careful consideration we decided not to buy it. We figured it would be too small for our needs. The feature she liked the best was that it had a bin at the bottom of it that would prevent toys or books from falling out. Here is the motivation for the project we were about to tackle.
It was made pretty easy with some pre-primed MDF that I got from Home Depot. Ashley made it pretty with letters that spelled out the girl’s name (not shown). In the end, I liked it much more than the one we saw online and the kids seem to really like it too.
