Wordless Wednesday – Carnival Fun
Storm Clouds over Kansas
I thought the storm clouds that rolled through this morning were pretty cool.
Too Busy!
Super busy day today. Ashley is staying at the hospital so I am on Dad duty at home. Thankfully Grandma is in town to help out. Last night after I picked up the girls from school we rushed home to do lice inspections as Chicken Nugget girl had them a few days ago at her Mom’s house. After a thorough inspection before and after a shower, it was determined that she and her sister were both clean. We followed that up with some supper, homework, hair-braiding (by Grandma), and then it was off to bed.
This morning came early. We got up at 6 and were fully dressed, fed and out the door by 7:15. Upon getting outside it was discovered that a tire on my car was about 15lbs low on air. Off to the gas station we went! First gas station had a broken pump so we headed to station number 2. 15lbs later we were on our way to school and work.
Things don’t slow down tonight though. I am off work early in order to make sure I get the girls picked up from school and Grandma from the hospital where she has been keeping Ashlye company. Then its home for a quick supper before we turn around and bring Craft Girl to dance recital practice and Chicken Nugget to a school play.
Ashley doesnt have it much easier. She is attending a infant CPR class for little dude.
What a night!
Philippians 4:13
Ashley and I were walking back from the NICU a few days back when Ashley mentioned a passage that had been going through her head all morning. She said the passage went something like “I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me”. I stopped walking for a moment and reached into my pocket to pull out my phone. With tears in my eyes I launched my Daily Devotions app and showed her the passage for the day. It read “I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me” God works in amazing ways.
Way Back Wednesday – Home Town Theater
I grew up in a small town in Western North Dakota called Belfield. It was nothing more than a small dot on the map but to me it was home and I have many memories of that place. One of them is this theater. I remember going to this theater as a kid with my Dad and watching one of the original SuperMan movies. Then it closed and remained closed for many years. The roof leaked, chairs were ruined, and it was a mess. Then a local businessman decided he wanted to restore it and once again have a place for the people of Belfield to enjoy a movie. Volunteers gathered (I helped paint) to help with the restoration and soon we had the old theater up and running. I spent many a weekend here watching movies during High School. Seeing this picture brings back a lot of memories.

Blizzard of 2011
I have heard that we received 12 inches of snow. Based on what I have seen out there. I believe it. Here are a few shots of the neighborhood.
Hopeful News
Good News!
We got a phone call last night that we have a showing of our townhouse on Thursday. We are really excited about this even though we know not to get our hopes up too much. The other two townhomes in our neighborhood that were for sale (and aren’t anymore) never got any viewings so we are pretty excited that we have at least one.
Even though this is great news, it still has me stressed out a bit. We recently moved the girls back into the same room in order to make a nursery. Their new room is a work in progress to get everything organized and put away. Over the weekend, we picked up all of our nursery furniture so the baby’s room is also being constructed. I stayed up late last night putting the crib together. Tonight will be dresser two of two.
I am confident that we will get everything picked up and organized before the showing tomorrow. Hopefully this showing brings us great news!
Attempt to Blog Again
With the new baby on the way and so many new things going on in our lives, I would like to try and blog more regularly. I really enjoy blogging but the biggest roadblock is trying to find the time to do so. To give everyone an idea of what I mean, below is our typical schedule for the week. On the days we have the girls, its differently a lot busier than the weeks we don’t but I wouldn’t trade that time for anything.
- Monday – Ashley has dance practice until late
- Tuesday – Craft Girl has dance practice
- Wednesday – Both girls have religion class and Ashley has dance practice until 9pm
- Thursday – Craft Girl has cheer-leading and Chicken Nugget has gymnastics.
- Friday – Usually have a football game for Ashley’s dance girls
- Saturday – Cheer-leading for Craft Girl
- Sunday – Church and relaxation (along with cleaning the house, laundry, chores, etc)
There you have it. That is our typical week!
New Theme
I have been messing around with a new theme after I bored of the old one. I have used this theme on my other sites and I really like it. The newest version has some great features that hope to setup soon. What are your thoughts?
