Back to School
Today marked the day that many kids went back to school here in Kansas. My two were no exception. For my oldest daughter, it was her 1st day being a second grader. For my youngest, it was her first day of school ever as she entered the wonderful world of kindergarten.
Watching them sit at their desks with excitement in their eyes brings a sense of brief relief. For with every new day of school bring new challenges and obstacles to overcome. Will they make friends? Will they like their teacher? Will they pick up the curriculum with ease? What in that school lunch? All we can do as parents is sit back and hope that we provided the right tools and upbringing to help them on their little journeys. I feel confident in my little girls that they will enjoy every minute of school. But if not, I am here with a soft shoulder and a warm hug to help them along.

Thank-you for the update on the girls Tyson. Once again it is so hard to beleive how fast time flies. It seems as if it were only yesterday that you were the one and your Mom and I were the in the parent role, and you are right. Have we did what was necessary to prepare our children for the future? We do what we can, what we think is right, then step back and let them go and hope for the best. I think that what we do is a small part, a nudge you might say in the right direction. Then the child takes off and and soars on their own, while we stand back, hold our breath and watch.
I think you have done an excellent job with those girls
Love Dad
Thanks Dad! You and Mom did quite the good job as well! We tend to learn parenting skills from our own parents. A job well done to me should be a pat on your own back as well.
